Trial of Captain Brown Beard
Author- Name Withheld by Request (The Editor chose to leave this in the words and spelling of the one whom submitted it)
The court is in silence as everyone stabs whit his eyes to the men….the Word pirate is a whisper arround the people that is watching how a men is about to be sentenced by piracy crimes…
the judge seems to be in a solemn silence while the advocates thinks and try to make time..
the sound of the pocketwatch makes the pulse become more faster, i can feel how the men feels…he is afraid…he feels like he is digging himself up on his own grave.
More people arrives at the courthouse as the men whit the mask remains in a deadly silence…maybe feeling thrilled and getting ready to be a legend. to Jump to the books of history as one of many that followed the old ways of take what you can and never regret.
The Fawkes mask giving him strenght as i belive he feels proud of the crimes he comited.
she seems to have faith as she continues…i think this is a humiliation for the police and i think that makes this city interesting
the watch points to the 4.33 while the judge ask for the things of the golum to be removed.
The Judge looking anoyed as the courthouse remains on silence, i can feel how the death stalks the room as all we know that the captain is going to loose.
But….If he looses, he will be a martyr for all his kind.
May blackbeard salute you.
May Sparrow drink for you
May John Silver carry your soul trough the deep oceans
Not fearing to Davy Jones
Your rest would feel into the deeples ocean beeing saluted by Nemo Himself
And knowing that your story will impulse to the new pirates
The trial becames a parody of itself while while the lawyer says that the police didnt told him about his crimes. there was no police aviable at the time of the arrest for what its say. I must say that this is a very good parody.
The real trial begins while the crimes are spoken.
Larceny, Grand larceny.
Suddenly the lawyer says feeling confident “My client wishes to pleade Not Guilty” as the captain nods.
The open statment begins while a cough is heard, while the prosecutor begins by saying..
“Your Honor, People of the City, this man here, known by multiple identies as Captain Brownbeard, Brother Thaddeus, and who knows how many others, is all the work of one very clever, abiet insane individual, and today, i plan on exposing the man in the mask for the acts of larceny that he has done. He is Mister Sphincter Allen, nothing more than someone who has a lot of time on his hands to not build a positive lifestyle, but a lifestyle off the hard work others have done. I am finished.”
The defense stands up saying
“Respectfully your honor and people of this city but my client was never advised of any crimes previous tothis time nor willfully admitted any wrong doing a. I intend to prove he is innocent.”
Whit this words i see a challenge, i see trust and i see interesting options….Will the captain end up as a hero? or as a martyr?.
her words seems to be filled whit trust as she poceedes saying “He is a misguided individual but not a criminal. I shall prove such and with that my statement is complete.”
This is a tastefull moment of knowing that the police dont do their job very good….How can this city trust in someone that doesnt know how to do its job? in my own opinion this is a circus. i wont be surprised if i see a clown entering in the court room.
Speaking of clowns…the witness are called, the mayor is called in first instance the palid men sits as he swears he will say the truth….but he is a politician….i spect to see his hand burning or the bible exploding…well…the bible frozes as soon he touchs it…its something.
Im not surprised if he decides to lie and manipulate the truth thanks to his politic powers.
he soons start saying “Due to the lack of constables, I performed a citizens arrest upon another individual. After arresting that man and having him placed into the cell, I left the cell area to find Lady Morgdah speaking with the gentleman. Apparently she had placed a truth spell of some form upon him, and had him admit that he was Mr. Howdy, Captain Brownbeard, and Sphincter Allen, and also admitting that he was the gentleman who has been moving across the city, stealing from homes and individuals and leaving a marking upon the wall” Interesting..lack of constables…why?
Citizens arrests?…thats a tool that may be used by the own citizents to prepare a set up
the prosecutor continues asking if he confessed right away. soon after this the mayor looks him straight into his eyes as he says “Yes, I asked him why he was there, he said it was Lady Morgdah who had brought him there. I asked him what crimes he had commited, and those were the crimes he admitted to. This was also witnessed by Lady Morgdah and Lady Iheko”
The mayor is asked about where was mister allen found when he preformed the citizent arrest. he replies answering
”You misunderstand me. I was not the individual who performed the arrest upon him. Lady Morgdah was. I was performing an arrest upon another individual for a seperate crime. He was in the office when I came in, as well as Lady Morgdah.”
“I see, Do you remember anything else suspicious of the circumstances?”
the mayor shakes his head saying “No, once the truth spell wore off, the man immediately began denying everything he had said prior.”
I must know…did Lady morgdah and miss iheko Saw to the mayor using that spell? or did they saw the confession only?…
the defense asks “Did you during the interaction whit my client ever hear charges read to him?. ” at this the mayo replies “”No, he was asked why he was there, and what crimes he had commited to be there. He was never specifically asked if he did those particular crimes, he admitted to them openly”
the defense continues saying “I see so he asked what crimes he committed to be incacerated. Was this question answered?” while the mayor answers “Yes it was”
the defense continues “And what was he told were the nature of his crimes and by whom?” a quick reply is forged and say as “”Theft across the city and to individual persons under the guise of Mr. Howdy, Brother Thaddeous, and Captain Brownbeard.”
the defense looks to the mayor and asks coldly and sharply like a knife “I see and was he afforded this information before of after a spell was cast upon him?”
the mayor thinks and shoots the answer like a bullet ” Not that I am aware. The situation as explained to me by Lady Morgdah, is that the gentleman in question was complaining about physical problems. She asked him if he wished to see the doctor, to which he declined. He explained that he believed Dr. Eve to have drugged him. Curious, Lady Morgdah asked him why he believed that, and he went on to tell her that it was for a wrong doing that he declined to explain. Deciding to find the truth, she placed the spell upon him. He then explained that he had stolen from the hospital, as well as many other places under these disguises. He was then promptly brought to the jail, and repeated such to myself. She then released him from this spell, and he began immediately denying the fact.”
“So he was not provided the specifics regarding the crimes of which he was accused until after he was under the influence of a spell. I have no further questions for this witness at this time”"
the mayor speaks quietly…maybe that question hit something while he says “There are other incidences that I have witnessed personally under these disguises that I have dealt with, if that is of interest to you…..” A personal vendetta? maybe he wants him down because he bulled him on the school…who knows.
the next witness is called “Barriste calls Sphincter allen”. the captain gets up and walks towards crossing the room, showing his big chest fill whit ego and his mouth full whit fooly and coolyness. he knows what will happend next as he sits. i can feel how she smiles under his mask. theres silence …deadly silence
his name is asked for the record, he proudly says “Captain Abraham J Brownbeard” the people looks to him debouting while he is asked his true name…
A traveleler never gives his true name….the words come out of his mouth but the place mantains in silence…people call him lier..i call him hero. His face is asked to be removed but he says not to…he claims he lost his true face thanks to the battles over sea.
”Sir, we know you are Mister Sphincter Allen, and you have confessed to having multiple identies already.” says the prosecutor while the captain answers “Theres no Farce,Sir”
“Why did you lead this Campaign of Larceny, when you know full well, that all these identies are just to cover up layers of illegal scams and activities?” he answers almost knowing he would be asked that “I led no such campaign, Sir.” his voice is muffled by the mask
suddenly everything goes in silence as the judge says ” Mr will can we stop lecturing him on his moral choices and question him at the facts at hand”
he looks to the captain and he asks “What were you doing when Lady Morgdah caught you sir?”, he says inmidetly “Standing on the street” a sigh is heard and a smile is seen . roughtly the question is shooted whit hate “So you deny you are anyone else, that you did any crimes, and you are at least Three, if not more identities?” as the captain whispers “I deny it, sir”. Mister Will is getting pissed as he ask “So if you deny it, remove your mask, so the people can see your true face, if your not Mister Allen?”. the captain strikes back telling ” “As I said, Sir, my mask can not be removed……Sir” The defense strikes toughtly saying “Objection badgering again and relevence” mister williams shouts in rage “Whitdraw” as he remains in silence…and then he finishes saying “No more questions…” a growl is heard while the judge asks to a madame “Do you need a minute to collect yourself?”.
the lawyer walks towards the captain and starts saying “”Captian Brownbeard I will be brief and my questions simple. Have you ever confessed to any crime in front of law enforcement officals?”. as soon she finishes mister william shouts “”Objection, the witness is badgering the court with his false identity.”" the judge says “Overrulled” while the preasure attacks to him…a shout is heard while the mask melts away showing a scarred men. scared and tear up to pieces, his face cant be described as i feel pity for him. his moans of pain who would do so cowards acts? i hope i could know….
a rescess is asked but the captain shouts “I can Continue, Ma’am!”. the judge nods as the trial continues the magic is forbidden in the court by the judge in a shout of bring the order on the room…
the defense asks “Please sir define larceny for me” but the captain cant answer he says he doesnt know as she keeps asking “I see so you are accused of something which you do not understand. Were you offered an opportunity to speak with a barrister for clarification?”, the captain shyly answers “no, ma’am”
the question that hits all… the defense asks
“Were you at any time placed under either drugs or enchantment which may have taken your cognizence and free will?”
and suddenly the captain says “Yes ma’am..I was”.
the silence breaks a minutes later when the prosecutor.
the prosecutor continues by asking “Mister Allen, to the point, do you remember being under a spell?”
“Yes and no,sir” he answers and continue saying “I remember being bewitched. I do not remember what hapened during the bewitchment, Sir.”
”So you admit to being under a truth spell, yes or no?”
the captain answers “No, sir” after that statement he steps down in solemne silence
soon the mayor is asked to walk to the stand
“Lord Mayor, you did say he was under a truth spell at the time?”
the mayor replies looking calm like every politic “Well yes and no. It is the vampiric trait known as Dominance. Lady Morgdah has control of the subject for a certain period of time. She commanded him to tell her the truth, and then tell the truth to myself.”
“Was the witness aware he was under this Dominance?”
“In my presence I may add. Truthfully, I was not in front of the original Dominance. Was he aware? I do not believe he was, as when she released him, he immediately began denying everything he had been asked prior to that” he replies
Dominance….Vampire powers….a mayor whit a personal vendetta?. this is bullshit
“Also, on a seperate matter, I was the gentleman who removed Mr. Brownbeard’s mask, you may repremand me as needed:” says the mayor…he is a coward in my own opinion. a coward backstaber manipulator that feels free to do what he wants…theres No real justice… the judge says “”I will have no more magic in my court room sir. Consider this the first and last warning.” I knew it…This Is Bullshit.
more witness are asked but this trial is a joke, a parody of itself…i cant stand this anymore.
The closing statements are asked but for this reporter, it doenst make sence anymore.
the captain remains calm and in solemn silence while the defense finishes saying “It remain the job of the prosecution to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that any crime was commited by my client. Furthermore, if an offense is committed one must understand that offense to be punished properly for it. “My client was not advised of any charges until his free will was taken from him. He never agreed as no being would to have his free will taken. He also never signed any legal documentation confessing any crime Furthemore, he has shown he does not understand the chargesand wa not allowed legal counsel. So the obivious decision is to find my client not guilty.” at least some comon sence on this charade
Mister Will ends saying “Ladies and Gentleman, what we have seen here tonight, abiet in a manor that is not normal to a proceeding, is someone who is very clever. Yes, he was exposed in a way that i do not approve of, yes i think he is diranged, yes i think this might reflect badly with how things were handled. But, while some feel he deserves pity, mercy, understanding, and i understand and i agree to a degree, and i hope he gets help. But he admited he did wrong! is it the way things are normally handled, no, it isn’t, is it the way we should handle things, no, we should not. when you did something wrong, you have to own up to it, like we saw tonight. Its is up to you people, in the jury to deside right or wrong, and while i do not like how things were handled, i do not want to see someone guilty get away with Larceny, that is the point. Remember we all have faults and problems, but remember he lied to us as well. and with that, i rest my case.”
After the maham a shout is screamed “Not Guilty”
The maham , the poisoning…this is a charade…a lie…
this is the humble opinion of a writter.
