Maria Fuente - Photographer for London Legacies Gazette
Maria Fuentes was born in Galicia, Spain, 19 years ago, in a good catholic family: this means she was teachd to cook and sew, but not to read, either to write.
Two years ago, she met an english sailor at El Ferrol’s port and she felt in love with him, following him until Portsmouth, UK. After some months, she was pregnant and then the sailor left her, almost without any coin.
Her life fell to pieces: abortion, prostitution, drink.. even the jail as pickpocket. Finally, she needed to leave that town and she came to London, realizing this town is her last chance to raise her life again. But she has learnt the lesson: now, she is wary and greedy.. even if she started working the streets as well, soon she was hired as entertainer in a tavern, the 10 Bells; after a confused story, she was accused to pickpocket and get fired, but she found soon a new job in a club, the Tea Room, dancing and being attentive with gentlemen.
Maria realized she needed know how to write and read in english, and she started taking lessons with a teacher.. until it came her lucky day. Miss Brawen found her at the Tea Room and offered her a job in the Gazette.
Without any doubt, Maria accepted.. but she still remember her hard days, and promised herself those days never will come back…
I would also like to thank all those who sent in free lance articles please see Brawen at your earliest convience for your pay.
Thank you,

London Has Laws????
A Series of Interviews by Brawen
Our reporter, Brawen, corners the Mayor D’diliculo and pries a few answers from him in a candid interview.
Brawen: “I understand you have a wife and daughter..how are they doing dealing with your new position?”
Lord Corvus D’diliculo: “Well, it has been a tough transition for the three of us. We recently moved back into the city and are continuing to unpack our things into the mansion. It has been difficult for me personally due to the fact that I do not see my daughter and wife nearly as much as I would like. Most especially with my daughter’s condition and the attention that it requires. However we are managing just as any other family would in a situation such as this”
B: “What lead you to decide to run for public office?”
LCD: “”Ultimately, it was asked of me by a few people I shall leave unnamed. After deciding that perhaps it was something that was worth looking into, I simply was honest with those around me and myself and pushed what I believe to be the strategy to keeping the city civilized to some degree”
B: “There are rumours that you are having health issues. Do they adversely affect your ability to be mayor?”
LCD: “I would like to admit that those rumors are absolutely true. I am currently going through a difficult time with my health. At the worst, I shall be bed ridden for a few days. As I…well….am not alive as it were….it is not life threatening. That being said, in my absence, we do have a vice mayor who can stand in for me”
B: ” What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment so far?”
LCD: “Bringing together the most intelligent minds in the city to form a basic governmental system to govern the laws that have been placed down.”
B: “What has been something you wish you could have changed?”
LCD: “I am currently working on the constabulary being reformed. The problem I am facing currently is the lack of those with the ability to enforce the laws that have been established. I have a few people in mind, but it is all being taken into careful consideration. I am not afraid to remove someone from their position should I have to, but I like to think that I have rather good tastes in character. That, I believe, will improve the quality of life as well as add more jobs to the city”
B: ” There have been both open and whispered complaints about apparent lack of police force. What has the government been doing to rectify this issue?”
LCD: “Yes, I hear the complaints and the whispers. It is not difficult to. Honestly, I am doing my best with what I have currently. What the people must understand is that I am the individual left with the decision, however instead of complaining about not having a constabulary, I would like to see them attempt to join it. Progress can only be made by those who have the will to act and the mindset to know when to”
B: “There also have been rumours that there are problems with fresh water. Is this a true concern?”
LCD: “I have not heard a complaint about the water….however if it is a problem, it shall be addressed with the Vice-Mayor and taken care of as quickly as possible”
B: “How do you feel people feel toward the government , which I am told is relatively new?
LCD: “Each person’s view of the government is different. Some hate it, some enjoy the stability it is working to bring. It all depends on what that person is currently looking to perform in the city. One with a dark mind will not wish to have order destroy their chaotic tastes, and one who is benevolent will not wish to lose what it stands for. All in all, I find them rather variating”
B: “Sir, who are those individuals that work in the government and what duties do they have?”
LCD: “Myself, obviously, Mr. Clawtooth Aker is current Vice-Mayor. Lady MagdalenaMarie Pluton is High Judge, Dr. Neko Nacht is the Administrator of Medicine. We are working on the Chief Constable currently, and will have a name for you on that as soon as possible. All other members are under those aforementioned people and their various departments”
B: “f you could tell the people of the city one thing, what would it be concerning your tenure in office?
LCD: “I am working very hard to make certain that their vote, whether it be for me or not, was not for naught.”
**************************************************************************************
Our reporter, Brawen, manages to catch Judge Magdalenamarie Pluton for a bit of Q & A. Read on to find out a bit about the personal side of our good Judge and her views on government.
Brawen: “Tell me, do you have any children?”
Magdalenamarie Pluton: “I have two girls Lily and Sierra, and now two newborn sons Cain and Abel”
B: “How are your children doing?”
MP: “I saw my oldest a few months back lily. i have not seen my sierra in a while, but the two boys are with me now.”
B: “Is it difficult being a Judge and mother?”
MP: “It difficult being both, I have help, a good stable nanny. She is wonders.”
B: “What influenced you to run or apply for this position?”
MP: “My love of the law I would guess. I was a nurse for awhile but, I would find myself watching cases in various court room in whatever city I was in at the time. I entered law school and got my degree.”
B: ‘What are some of your future plans?”
MP: “I would love to see Legacies running smoothly and with a solid police force. Start hearing cases and such”
B: “How do you feel people feel toward the government , which I am told is relatively new?”
MP: “The people of the government, well I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. Lord Corvus has my respect as an indivual and Claw as well. They were two good choices in my book.”
B: “What has been your greatest sucess so far in this tenure?”
MP: “I think so far is my setting up of public defender and prosecutor. Getting the mayor’s office going and setting up a point for the government to work in, and call their own. My time here is still new, I am looking forward to accomplishing more.”
B: “What has been something you wish you could have changed?”
MP: “I couldn’t really anwser that, still too early, ask me again in a couple of months”
B: “There have been both open and whispered complaints about apparent lack of a police force. What has the government been doing to rectify this issue?”
MP: “The mayor is currently putting togther a police force, it will be announced shortly”
B: “What are some of your duties as Judge?”
MP: “As of now I run the mayor’s office for him, and I discuss various new laws and hear cases if and when that ever occurs”
B: “If you could tell the people of the city one thing, what would it be, concerning your tenure in office?”
MP: “I will tell them, that regardless of being a demon, I am still a firm believer in justice, and I will make sure all citizens wronged in some way or another, if it reaches my court room, I will make sure they have a fair trial.”
B: “Who is the official PD and DA for the city? How may a citizen get in touch with them?”
MP: “The Offical DA is tchebbe Yonhgo and the PA is Lady Meineko d’Diliculo. You can reach them at the Solicitor’s office in the new Darkness District”

The Troubles of Cristabella Contepomi
By Dryl Morgwain
and Edited by Iheko Dreadlow
It’s eleven in the morning as I am here with Mordeth Morgwain, MorighanStormcrow Fairey, listening as Cristabella Contepomi begins her tale:
Cristabella Contepomi smiles weakly, looks at the creature in slight horror and wonders if coming here to these lands was a good idea
“I came here not to long along from my homelands to start a new life. This place is strange to me the very idea of shoes are foreign to me . I came looking for a job and I found one. I wait till I can learn from the human male.
“Unseelie are weak by nature . Unseelie heal very quickly from injuries but metals can poison us and when presented with metals it can kill us, only down fall of my race. A very bad one. There are not many left of my kind in this world…
“The other night i was walking alng trying to get to know the city and i was accosted by a man and woman wearing a hoodsand they have knives in their hands i could not let it touch me for it would be my undoing.
“Well… these two had… a syringe filled with a brown liquid … they injected it in my veins; the needle alone almost killed me. The drug is still coursing through my veins. I can not seem to get rid of it! I want more, it seems . They want me for some sort of sale or profit. Tthe liquid does not leave me… andI can seem to heal from its effects.”
Mordeth Morgwain nods slightlyas he watched her. “It is a drug, you are addicted. You will either have to do it for yourself or go to doctor nacht who will be most skillfull with the facing of such an addiction. and you seek what? the death of this person? their punishment?” he arched a brow slightly as his hand rested on the bar. “if they are behaving illegaly speak to the chief inspector. What is it you are hoping for me to be able to do?”
Cristabella Contepomi asks “I do not want to be addicted. I want to live my life here no more no less. Can you help me or know of some one that can get this from my veins? Medical help wont be enough. In my lands I would go to agreat scocerrer or wizard for help… here, I know of none.”
Mordeth Morgwain shrugs slightly. “I can bleed you. However - this would likely kill you. Of course, I could turn you into a vampire. Similarly, you will die, but you would have to prove to me your worth as a vampire before I even dare consider this.”
Cristabella Contepomi replies “My lord it would not be wise to take my blood; I have heard that vampires enjoy it very much… like a delicacy. I would be dead before long.” There is a pause, and then she asked, sadly, “So, there is no such being here for me?”
Mordeth Morgwain doesn’t reply, but looks up. “Ahhh… Morighan… dear one.. do you know anything about these silly drugs and how to purge them from one’s system short of bleeding them to death?”
Cristabella Contepomi looks at the other female creatue- not into its eyes - and nods.
MorighanStormcrow Fairey smiles at her friend and says ” that depends sweetheart… which of the sily drugs is it?”
Mordeth Morgwain shrugs and points to the fairy. “Ask her.”
MorighanStormcrow Fairey: “And you did not attempt to scream, or run, or fly away?who took what and how much. How many beyond the first were self administered?”
Cristabella Contepomi looks up at the other female: “It is not silly to me my lord. The metal needle is the worst pain i have ever exprienced. I want it gone from my body it it running through me damaging it taking my magic from me. It is Opuim and i have had 3 dose so far. one were my lord they gave me two doses at once and another the other day”
MorighanStormcrow Fairey goes into witch mode… nonnonsence but friendly and helpfull
MorighanStormcrow Fairey: “It’s ok love … the needles contain a degree of cold iron wich will cause thee harm. Cold iron effects all of the sidhe…and opium can be flushed out easly enough but we need to keep this from happening again so the madness that can take one with it stays clear of ya lass.”
MorighanStormcrow Fairey, closing her eyes, whispers to the air round her, calling the small sylphs to bring her what she needs from home…
Shorty a bag made from the whole pelt of an otter drops at her feet and she stoops down and removes 3 pouches from it….
Cristabella Contepomi watches the female and sits patiently. “the woman seems to know of unseelie and their weaknesses.”
MorighanStormcrow Fairey: makes up 3 balls dime sized with a combination of herbs and hands them to the young lady. “this will taste right awfull lass but it should purge what may still be lurkin in yer veins.eat them … they are a mixture of purgitives specificly for your race.”
Cristabella Contepomi tastes the concoction and chews it slowly making faces from the bad tastes.
MorighanStormcrow Fairey: “For the next 3 days you should…. stay close to home as they will make you vomit and … umm… run out the other end also.”
And with this the deed done the puratives began to cure the Unseelie…

The Rage Rain
By : Brawen
Over the weekend there was rain that seemed to bring out the worse in all creatures. There werwe rumours of fights…and randon acts of blood shed and madness. What was the cause of all the behavior?
One creature according to the pictures taken by our brave Maria; seemed particlarly angry….that caused this poor creature to go mad?
This reporter was out of town; but having listened to the rumors and whispered tales it seems as though one Nis, a elf, who was recently bitten by a lycan may have gone mad..and “rained” rage and lust and greed across the city.
My questions are this…good innocent and abused people of Legacies…where was the law in this? Was she arrested….was she charged against the crimes so obviously done against the city?
Is she receiving treatment for her obvious “moon madness”?
We all know we live in dangerous times. A thief may rob us. A arsonist may try to burn us out …a murderer may rampage..but what is our recourse when nature itself is caused to turn against us?

Announcement by Police Chief
Citizenry,
I have been made well aware that the past month, in my unavoidable absence, that trouble has befallen this city, and upon my return and recent reinstatement as the Chief of Police by our Lord Mayor, a grand number of agenda items have been tossed upon my desk that I believe require immediate and action.
First, the Police Bureau is being rebuilt. In the mere days that I have returned I was pleasantly surprised that no less than a half-dozen able-bodied individuals have submitted Letters of Intent to join the Force. I am grateful to each and every one of them for their valourous ambitions, but for the sake of our greater well-being it is merely a good start. If anyone else has the resolve to protect this city within the ranks of the Police Bureau, let your voice be heard.
Second, there is talk of Pirates taking refuge within our city limits. Let it be known that Piracy is a crime that has a swift and ultimately permanent penalty under the Law. I must ask anyone with information to step forward to the Police with it immediately. Only together will we be able to scrub such self-serving and dangerous criminals from our streets.
Third, thievery is on the rise. Our Lord Mayor’s recent resolution on a suitable backbone of Law specifically addresses such a crime not once, but twice, as when thievery becomes prominent within a community, trust and civic duty become scarce luxuries when they should be upheld as staples. The Police will be increasing patrols on the streets, and if there is any suspicious activity, seek out and alert a Constable on watch at once.
Let it be known that I am not one to run from a fight, and that I have nearly given my life for this City more times than I care to recollect; the latest of which, fueling the underlying cause and unpropitious span of my disappearance. However, despite every obstacle and hindrance, I have returned, and I shall endure to see that we live in a civilized and upright society.
Your servant,
[in stylized calligraphy, "S.O.S"]
Chief Constable Shyles Oliver Suppenkraut

The local Pub : Ten Bells
By : Brawen
The tables are worn..and the floors may be a little dirty. The scents of all manner of beings, mingle with ale and smoke , but the atmosphere is pleasant and lively. There can be heard a paino playing lively bawdy toons or debates on all matter of subjects.
Sit here for just a few hours and you learn the flavor of the city… a thief may rob you and yet a doctor will stop a important meeting to aid you. People freshly arrived from the docks, and locals mingle and meet. Brooding vampires sit and observe; while government officals come to drink and meet.
This place is a true place that mingles the old fashion taverns of old…with the changing times. The bread is fresh and the stew hot. the barmaids and barmen strive hard to give good service.

Interview with Baldor Stronghammer-
A New Beginning - A new Name
By Brawen
“What is your new name and what made you choose it?”
Baldor Stronghammer: “My name is now Baldor Stronghammer. I chose the name to reflect what I am doing in life right now,and forget a certain past.”
“What was the process you went through to chose make it happen legally?”
Baldor: “Well I went to the honorbale Judge Mag to see how I would go about this and she handed me some papers to fill out. It costed me, and well worth it, fifty coins for the change.”
“What you are doing with your life now, what is your career?”
Baldor: “I am a smith ma’am.”
“Do you own your own business, what types of things do you make?
Baldor: “Aye I do my own buisness, and the stuff I make is all kinds of swords and armor.” “I also do repairs for anything made of metal…”
“What is the name of the your business?”
Baldor: “Well with the recent name change it shall be “Baldor’s Smith of all Trades”"
“Is there any thing you would like to tell your customers?”
“I have never had an unhappy customer as of yet.”
