Posted on the Police bulletin board reads:
Some time on the 10th of May, an individual or individuals saw fit to errect a pair of stocks and set of gallows in the middle of the square without a permit. Two of the items have already been dealt with. If the owner does not dismantle the remaining set of stocks promptly, it will be reserved for them upon aprehension for an indefinite period of time.
